It all started last Friday when I received a frantic call from my father informing me that he had made a purchase, or several purchases actually. He told me excitedly that he had bought a Wii gaming console, games, nun chucks and steering wheels. My only question was what did martial arts weapons and automobile parts have to do with a "nintendo".
He showed up that night at 8:30. We commenced in non-stop gaming, even though the console actually promotes you to take breaks every once in a while, for the next three and a half hours. We rounded out that night with a nice game of settlers and called it good.

I think the best part was when Katie, who previously stated that she would have just as much fun watching the two "boys" play, was demanding equal time. She would even shoot me cute, little looks when I would jump up off the couch when it was actually her turn to bowl.

Catch Up!
Okay, we realize that we haven't posted anything for months and instead of trying to go back and do a post for each event we're gonna do a really quick catch up/ketchup/catchup.
Adam came and spent a weekend with us in Feb. (or was it March...?) and all the local family came for an afternoon/supper thing. This is a really cute picture of Katie and Angela. For some reason Adam decided to jump in the background and do something...interesting.
Same with this one...
...we're seeing a theme...or a disorder...
...and it's contagious.
What can we say, we love him.

We also went to the DC zoo with Adam and
Angela (she's like our little side kick).

<--Adam telling Lily the hippo likes to play with his big red ball in warmer weather.
The tamarind (who speaks Mandarin) was one of Lily's favorite animals at the zoo.
Amazingly, a few days before we went to the zoo and it snowed, it was actually warm and we had a family day at the park
.

This is Lily's playmate Hannah and her "Mimi" Melinda, who watches Hannah for her friend. Katie is best friends with Melinda's twin daughters. The funny thing about this picture is that Hannah doesn't use a binki and that's not Lily's cup...kids like to share. Yay germs!

No Brakes
We brought a little pump to fill the tire every couple of hours to make sure we didn't get stranded hours from home. This was one of my responsibilities. So after we had been there about an hour, I decided the tire needed to be filled. I jumped in the truck, pushed in the clutch, started the engine, put it in neutral, went to apply the parking break when suddenly-SNAP. The parking break peddle fell to the floor and the car rolled forward a foot despite the fact that I had the foot brake also pressed to the floor.
So I sauntered back up to the apartment to tell Bob. He laughed at first thinking I was joking, especially when I told him that for some reason the pump we had didn't work either. So now we have a truck with a couple hundred pounds of trash with a tire that is now almost entirely flat and no brakes.
So we called a tow truck right? Wrong. We decided we needed to fill the tire up before it was completely ruined. So we started driving down the road. When I said no breaks, I didn't mean that our breaks didn't work very well but still worked a little bit. We had absolutely no breaks, and we were in WASHINGTON D.C. We even drove by the White House.
So some how, through down shifting, much wincing and screaming through a few orange lights we actually made it all the way from D.C. to Culpeper without incident.

Liliana on Election Day
Liliana is so proud of herself, sitting like a big girl.
With my dad's coxing, Lily was trying to eat the dandelion. Silly grandpa!

For Halloween we had originally planned on
just hanging out with Shepherd and Angela,
but at the last minute we changed our minds.
We ran out to Wal*mart and bought 3 awesome
costumes.
Here's Lily, the pirate princess, and Katie, the
matador.
Isaac was a warlord/gladiator looking dude,
Angela was a fairy, and Shepherd eventually
decided to put some war paint on and leap
about every where we went like a monkey.
Lily had her first trick-or-treating experience
at the mall. Some of the stores were giving out
candy and there were little kids running around
everywhere. Lily saw a boy dressed as Spiderman
and she wouldn't stop staring at him.
We also noticed that every other kid had their
finger up their nose...including ours...anyway.
Happy Halloween!

Liliana's enjoying her new favorite snack. She loves sour and tart foods. This is her "tangy" face.
